Victorian English Aqua Blue and White Art Glass Epergne, 20 in, c. 1915
Antique Victorian English Aqua Blue & White Art Glass Epergne – c. 1915
A graceful and airy late Victorian epergne in soft aqua blue and white art glass, crafted in England circa 1915. The cool, luminous palette and delicate spiral trailing give this piece a lightness that belies its impressive 20" height — an elegant centerpiece that would have graced the finest Edwardian tables.
The arrangement features a large central horn flanked by two arched horns and two hanging baskets, all rising above a large round float bowl with a beautifully wavy crimped edge. Spiral trailing decoration runs throughout, hand-applied with the fluid confidence of an experienced glassworker. Unsigned, as is characteristic of English art glass of this period.
