Rindskopf Green Papillon Art Nouveau centerpiece

A luminous green palette and iridescent finish give this Bohemian Josef Rindskopf Papillon centerpiece a compelling presence. Its generously flared rim opens the silhouette into a graceful, expansive form, bringing a sculptural quality to the richly colored glass.

The interplay of color, light, and contour captures the expressive spirit of Art Nouveau. Standing seven inches tall with a ten-inch rim, the vase offers a broad, open profile that makes an elegant focal point on a console, mantel, or collector’s cabinet. Displayed on its own, it allows the green iridescence and flowing outline to take center stage.

About the Maker

The Rindskopf family’s glassmaking enterprise developed in the Teplice region of Bohemia. In 1891, four sons of Josef Rindskopf established Josef Rindskopf’s Söhne at Kosten, with additional factories near Teplice contributing to the production of ornamental art glass. This vase is presented within that Bohemian decorative-glass tradition, using the Josef Rindskopf and Papillon identification supplied for the piece.
