Boch Frères Blue Crackle Porcelain Dresser Box with Ormolu Mounts, c. 1920s

Antique Boch Frères Signed Blue Crackle Porcelain Dresser Box – French Ormolu Brass Mounts – Bonbonnière – c.1920s

A supremely elegant antique dresser box of exceptional decorative quality, crafted by the celebrated Belgian porcelain house Boch Frères circa the 1920s. The richly textured blue crackle glaze — a hallmark of Boch Frères' most sought-after Art Deco production — glows with depth and luminosity, its network of fine crazing lines giving the surface an almost jewel-like complexity. The porcelain body is set within ornate French ormolu brass mounts of exceptional quality, stamped France, their gilded surfaces adding warmth and grandeur to the cool blue ground.

This bonbonnière form — a lidded box originally intended for confections or small treasures — is one of the most refined expressions of the dresser box genre. The combination of signed Boch Frères porcelain and stamped French ormolu mounts makes this a particularly well-documented and desirable piece for the serious collector. On a vanity, writing desk, or display cabinet, it commands attention with quiet authority.
