The rich green color and shimmering finish lend the piece an elegant presence, beautifully suited to a thoughtfully arranged antique collection or a distinguished tabletop display.

The pairing of glass and bronze offers a compelling contrast of materials, allowing the iridescent glass to remain the centerpiece of the composition. Dating to the early 1900s, this piece evokes an era in which decorative glass was celebrated as both a functional object and an artistic statement.

About the Maker

Loetz was a celebrated Bohemian glassworks based in Klostermühle, in what is now the Czech Republic. Especially admired for its iridescent art glass around the turn of the twentieth century, the firm became closely associated with the Art Nouveau movement. Its richly colored surfaces and adventurous decorative treatments continue to attract collectors of European art glass.

Details

Maker: Loetz

Design: Martele “Diaspora”

Period: Early 1900s

Style: Art Nouveau

Materials: Iridescent green glass with bronze holder

Measurements: 9 inches × 9 inches

Piece weight: 1.6 lbs, before protective packaging

Condition

Excellent antique condition consistent with age and careful display.
